A Passion for India and it’s food
Love of India, her people and her food, easy curry recipes that are quick and convenient, a business opportunity and a real passion for authenticity. These were the key ingredients that led me to start the DESI product range.
Let me introduce myself, I’m Samantha and the DESI range was launched by me and my parents, Sharon and Lawrence
My Dad has spent more than 20 living and working in the Indian sub continent, and I have many years of experience in the food business. I listened to many of my dad’s (very) long stories of India and of eating wonderful Indian food while he was working out there.
I wanted to offer the true taste of India that I had come to know and love during my time there, so it seemed to me that there was a gap in the British market for truly authentic Indian meal kits. I decided that every ingredient should be grown in India and our easy curry recipes should be developed and produced by expert Indian chefs

It was also very important to me that DESI meal kits should be produced in India, allowing DESI to support the Indian people I have grown to know and love over the years. I therefore took the decision to base the DESI factories in Nashik to source all raw ingredients from Lasalgaon which is famed for having the largest onion market in the whole of Asia.
We are a family business and believe strongly in the values of honesty, loyalty and hard work. In many ways, our team in India is part of our extended family and we all share the same values. We are one of very few brands to use completely Indian grown ingredients in our products because we believe that only by developing, sourcing and producing right in the heart of India can we bring our customers a truly authentic taste.
